Pastor Apollo Quiboloy YouTube Channel Removed Over Alleged Violations
One of the largest video streaming platforms YouTube removed the channel of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy over alleged violations.
The YouTube channel of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, founder of the Philippine-based Kingdom of Jesus Christ, was canceled by the Google-owned video-sharing platform on Wednesday owing to an alleged breach of community guidelines. In response to a user, YouTube’s verified account (@TeamYouTube) made the announcement on Twitter.
Mutahar, renowned for his YouTube channel “SomeOrdinaryGamers,” called out Team YouTube on Twitter last June 20 and stated that Quiboloy runs a channel. Mutahar questioned the platform’s decision to host Quiboloy’s channel despite the fact that the pastor is already on the FBI’s wanted list for alleged s3x trafficking.
Twitter user @TeamYouTube provided an update on Quiboloy’s channel on Wednesday. The YouTube team stated that they reviewed Quiboloy’s channel and decided that it violated the Community Guidelines. The team also stated that the aforementioned channel has been closed.
“Hey, update here: upon review, we’ve determined that the channel is in violation of Community Guidelines & has been terminated,” @TeamYouTube said in response to @OrdinaryGamers tweet.
While some netizens viewed the action as a “Rare W” for the corporation, others demanded that the dislike count be returned to the site. Prior to the upgrade, @TeamYouTube stated in a tweet on June 20 that the first step is to report the aforementioned channel.
In addition, @TeamYouTube gave a lesson on how to report objectionable videos, channels, and other content on the platform. Quiboloy’s channel had over 47,000 subscribers prior to the shutdown.
A quick YouTube search for “Apollo Quiboloy” channels turned up at least two results, but it’s unclear whether these were managed by or related with Quiboloy. Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy has yet to comment publicly on the situation.
