Mariel Padilla thanked a former Senate Deputy-Secretary for Legislation
Celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla shared a post affirming her statement about the “Robin Padilla Law.”
It can be recalled that Mariel’s statement during Robin Padilla’s 2022 senatorial campaign defended his qualifications by claiming he was already involved in making laws while he was in prison back in the 1990s.
This gained the attention of the online community just recently as many netizens reuploaded the clip and shared their opinion, mostly criticizing Mariel for what she said.

Following the backlash, Mariel Padilla clarified what she said regarding the Republic Act No. 8294, informally called the “Robin Padilla Law.”
The celebrity vlogger explained that she meant that her husband’s high-profile arrest served as a primary “case study” and catalyst for lawmakers to consult prisoners and review existing gun penalties.
Despite the clarification, the former Pinoy Big Brother host still received negative comments. Amid the bashing, Senator Robin Padilla defended his wife.
In a recent Facebook post, Mariel shared a post from SMNI, in which former Senate Deputy-Secretary for Legislation Atty. Demaree Raval stated how Padilla helped craft the said law, including its significant impact on those previously and currently accused of illegal possession of firearms.
In the caption of her post, Mariel Padilla thanked the lawyer for his explanation regarding the said law. “Thank you so much Atty. Demaree Raval [folded hands emojis] i hope to meet you one of these days. May God bless you more. Maraming salamat po,” the celebrity vlogger wrote.
Meanwhile, Mariel also caught the attention of the online community a few days ago when she shared her birthday post. In the caption of her post, she mentioned that she celebrated with her “truest friends,” including Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga, actress Ruffa Gutierrez, and Senator Camille Villar.
