In a Facebook post, actress Aiko Melendez revealed that she and talent manager Ogie Diaz have ended their professional partnership. While their working relationship has come to an end, Aiko emphasized that their personal friendship remains intact.
Melendez and Diaz had been friends for years before working together. In March 2023, Aiko signed a management contract with Ogie Diaz to handle her career, with their friendship helping build their professional partnership.
The recent decision they have made comes as Melendez continues to balance her showbiz career with her political activities. Her official statement put to rest possible speculation about a falling-out between the two. Melendez’s statement emphasized that their separation is limited to their professional arrangement and does not mean the end of their friendship.
“My manager Ogie Diaz and I have reached a crossroads in our business life, and we have chosen to take separate roads,” she said.
She ended her message by expressing her gratitude to Ogie for their friendship, trust, and the memories they have shared and will continue to create. She also reassured him that she still cares for him deeply.
She values their friendship, and it would remain unchanged.
Melendez and Diaz began their professional partnership in March 2023, when the actress signed a management contract with the talent manager. At the time, Melendez shared that she appreciated Diaz’s guidance and advice in handling her showbiz career.
Diaz has also managed several other well-known celebrities, including actress Liza Soberano, whom he represented for 11 years before they parted ways in 2022.
Aside from her acting career, Melendez also pursued a career in politics. She served as a Quezon City councilor from 2001 to 2010 and returned to the post in 2022, representing the city’s fifth district.
