Fake Vlogger Scams Fish Vendor in Negros Occidental
A fish vendor in Toboso, Negros Occidental loses over P10,000 worth of goods to a man who introduced himself as a vlogger
Recently, the Facebook page DYJU K5 SAGAY 89.7 shared a video of a fish vendor who fell victim to a man who introduced himself as a vlogger allegedly took fish worth more than P10,000 and disappeared without paying.
According to reports, the vendor regularly sells fish to support his family. One day, he was approached by a man who claimed to be a content creator or vlogger. The suspect reportedly interviewed the vendor and asked questions about his livelihood and daily struggles.

During their conversation, the man gained the vendor’s trust and later expressed interest in buying a large amount of fish. Believing that the transaction was legitimate, the vendor agreed to the request.
The suspect then allegedly asked the vendor to accompany him to another location, saying he would settle the payment there. Trusting the man’s promise, the vendor followed him on a scooter while carrying the fish.
Upon reaching the area near a crossing in Barangay Magticol, the suspect reportedly began distributing some of the fish to residents. The vendor was surprised but continued to trust that he would eventually receive payment.
The man later claimed that he did not have enough cash on hand and needed additional money. The vendor, hoping to complete the sale, even handed over some cash to help with the supposed transaction.
After a few moments, the suspect took advantage of the situation and fled on his motorcycle. The vendor was left without payment and lost both his fish and cash. The total value of his losses was estimated at more than P10,000.
With no way to immediately contact authorities, the victim later reported the incident to the police and filed a blotter report. An investigation is now underway to identify and locate the suspect.
