Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Respects Right of Filipinos to Conduct Rally
MARCOS JR. – The President ordered maximum tolerance on the surprise rally launched by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members who support Senator Rodante Marcoleta.
Thousands of members of Iglesia ni Cristo gathered for a surprise rally held along EDSA near the People Power Monument in Quezon City on June 30, 2026 reportedly to show support to Sen. Rodante Marcoleta amid the possible plunder charges against him. The minority Senator claims that he is allegedly one of the targets of the administration to be imprisoned.
An estimated 100,000 members of the INC are expected to gather in White Plains Avenue today, July 1, in continuation of the surprise rally to show support for Sen. Marcoleta. They are protesting against the possible arrest of the Senator.
The government deployed around 900 cops to maintain the safety amid the surprise rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo members. Presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos is one of those who joined the INC members in the rally.
The rally that is being held along EDSA now comes after the three-day rally that was also held by the INC members from November 16 to 18, 2025. In the said rally, Sen. Imee Marcos accused her brother, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., of allegedly using illegal drugs.
The Senator even called on his brother to go home and receive treatments. For his part, the President said that their family and friends are “very worried” about his sister as the lady that the people see on TV is allegedly not the usual acts of the Senator.
With regards to the INC surprise rally that is ongoing now, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos ordered maximum tolerance based on a report on News5. The Chief Executive also said that everything must be brought back to normal in the nearest time.
Marcos Jr. postponed an event to monitor the happenings in EDSA. Based on the report, Malacañang stressed that the President respects the right of the people to conduct rallies and they are not seeing any threat.
“Kung magkakaroon ng mga pag-poprotesta ay makipag-coordinate naman sa gobyerno. Kung meron po tayong nakikita ngayon na violation ng anumang batas, ito po ay iimbestigahan at kung kailangan managot, kitang-kita naman siguro kung mayroong paglabag sa batas, ay kailangan din pong managot,” Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro said based on the report.
Recently, majority Sen. Ping Lacson claimed that Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is allegedly “gaslighting” the public again.
