Female Store Owner Shares Experience After Nearly Falling Into QR Code Scan ScamĀ
A female store owner has warned the public about a QR code scan scam that is currently circulating in various parts of the country.
Recently, Facebook user Aq C Flor shared her experience after she almost became a victim of a QR code scan scam. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from the online community.
According to Flor, the scam usually happens when a customer asks a seller to scan a QR code for payment. In some cases, scammers allegedly enter a small amount like 100 pesos but secretly change the payment details to a much larger amount such as P1,500, P5,000, or even P10,000.

It can easily go unnoticed, especially in busy stores where sellers are attending multiple customers at the same time.
Flor shared that she personally experienced a similar incident recently in her area. A man came to her store and asked for a QR payment transaction. Because she was busy with other customers, she scanned the code without carefully checking the details.
It was only after the transaction that confusion started when the other party questioned the amount sent. The situation led to a long discussion between both sides, with the store owner insisting that the correct amount shown was what was processed.

However, the customer claimed it was only supposed to be a small payment. After some time and difficulty withdrawing the money, the issue was eventually resolved when the full amount was handed over.
The store owner said the experience taught her an important lesson about being extra careful when dealing with QR payments. She reminded other small business owners and cashiers to always check the name and amount before confirming any transaction, no matter how busy the store may be.
