Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Minority Senators Push Through w/ Flood Control Hearing

ALAN PETER CAYETANO – The Senator who claims that he is allegedly still the Senate President expressed his thanks to Sen. Robin Padilla.

Some members of the now-minority bloc entered the Senate premises together with their resource persons in the flood control hearing. The entry of the individuals who are not members of the chamber took place after senators Pia Cayetano and Robin Padilla led it calling them their guests.

The now minority bloc which includes Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano who insists that he allegedly remains as the legal and moral Senate chief of the Republic of the Philippines pushed through with the hearing despite that a quorum of 12 senators had declared all positions in the Senate vacant during a session yesterday. The minority senators who were the majority bloc then was no show for two (2) days in the plenary session.

Sen. Chiz Escudero who was part of the minority bloc then attended the Senate session on Wednesday which led to the quorum of 12. The now-majority senators who claimed that they are already in the brink of violating the Constitution if they were not able to hold a session yesterday stressed that there are only 22 functioning senators now which leads to 12 being a majority.

Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, Robin Padilla, Loren Legarda, and Imee Marcos are present in the Senate today for the flood control hearing. Sen. Loren Legarda claims that the recent Senate takeover is allegedly unconstitutional.

Senators Pia Cayetano and Robin Padilla led the entry of the 18 ex-marines to the plenary session hall. Recently, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano expressed his gratitude to Sen. Padilla for his supposed “correct strategy” that led the entry of the former soldiers.

“I’d like to thank Senator Robin Padilla because if not for him having the correct strategy of pulling Senator Pia aside or pushing Secretary [Jonvic] Remulla pagpasok, hindi kayo ngayon nakapasok dito,” Cayetano said based on PhilStar.

Based on the post, for his part, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla denied the claim that he allegedly attempted to block the senators from entering the Senate session hall. According to him, he was alone and he was on his way out. Senate Pres. Sherwin Gatchalian had sought the help of Remulla so he was in the chamber.

Amid the issues in the Senate now, Sen. Chiz Escudero explained his decision to attend the Senate plenary session yesterday.
