Unidentified Suspect Returns Stolen Motorcycle Hours After Taking It for a Ride
A stolen motorcycle in Kalibo, Aklan was returned only a short time after it was taken by unidentified suspects for a ride.
The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday (August 21, 2026), along the corner of Pastrana Street and C. Quimpo Street in Poblacion, Kalibo. The motorcycle, a Raider 150 FI, was parked by the roadside when three unidentified men allegedly took it.
The owner became alarmed after discovering that the motorcycle was missing. Hoping to recover it, he immediately turned to social media and asked the public for help in locating the vehicle.
He also encouraged anyone with CCTV footage from nearby areas to share information that could help identify the people involved.
A CCTV camera in the area captured the incident. The footage showed three men passing through the location before allegedly noticing the parked motorcycle. Moments later, they were seen taking the vehicle away from where it had been parked.
However, the incident took an unexpected twist. According to the owner, the motorcycle was later recovered after the suspects abandoned it and left it behind. The vehicle was reportedly returned near the same place where it had originally been taken.
Social media users reacted with amusement and curiosity after learning that the motorcycle had been taken and then returned shortly afterward. Some jokingly compared the incident to a late-night road trip rather than a typical theft case.
Despite the motorcycle being recovered, the identities of the three men remain unknown. The owner is still hoping that additional CCTV footage or information from witnesses may help determine who was responsible for taking the vehicle.
Authorities and residents continue to remind motorcycle owners to remain cautious and secure their vehicles properly, even when parked for a short period, especially during late-night and early morning hours.
