Imee Marcos claimed that the Senate Majority Bloc is being targeted
Senator Imee Marcos is asking if the impending cases against the 13 senators from the Majority Bloc are a form of threat or oppression.
Marcos was one of the lawmakers who voted for Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano to replace Sen. Tito Sotto in the position of Senate President. This voting went controversial on May 11 with the sudden appearance of Sen. Bato dela Rosa after months of hiatus.
Reports stated that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has released a warrant of arrest against him for his alleged “crime against humanity” in line with the drug war of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a recent statement posted by Abante News on Facebook, Sen. Imee Marcos said that it seemed that the Majority Bloc is being targeted with lawsuits.
Aside from Dela Rosa, it was reported that Sen. Jinggoy Estrada will be charged with plunder, based on the statement from Ombudsman Boying Remulla.
Marcos mentioned in her statement that there are also cases that will be filed against Senators Rodante Marcoleta, Joel Villanueva, Chiz Escudero, Mark Villar, and Camille Villar.

“Sangkatutak talaga ang kaso eh. Inuubos yata kami sa kaso,” Marcos said, adding that, allegedly, Sen. Bong Go is on the list of the ICC.
“Pananakot ba ito o pang-aapi, hindi ko na maintindihan,” the older sister of President Bongbong Marcos said. She also stressed that it was the result of being the “minority.”
Sen. Imee Marcos stressed that they let it pass when Sen. Tito Sotto became the Senate President, because he was chosen by the majority at that time.
“Noon naman natalo kami, hindi kami bumoto kay Sen. Tito Sotto, wala namang umalma eh, quiet lang kami,” she said, stressing that they believe in the process and they are not “kapit-tuko” to the position. The Senator also said that this is not the situation before, and it just happened now.
