Ice Seguerra shared his journey in showbiz
Singer Ice Seguerra talked about how he went through the “awkward stage” in the entertainment industry.
Most child stars go through the awkward stage. It is during their teenage years, or the time when they are too old for roles of children and too young to be teenagers.
Ice rose to fame when he joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines in 1987. This opened doors of opportunity for him in the entertainment industry, which cemented his child star career.

However, aside from the awkward stage, Ice Seguerra faced an extra challenge because of his transition. His career dimmed, and he barely got support during his gigs.
When the song Pagdating ng Panahon was offered to him through his late mother, Caridad Seguerra, the singer said that initially, he did not believe it, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
“Honestly, ang state of mind ko at that time, I was very cynical. Siyempre, di ba, kahit sabihin mong… alam naman natin na sa industriyang ito ay walang forever. Pero masakit pa rin kapag galing ka sa sobrang sikat ka ‘tapos bigla ka na lang– Masakit siya, e!” Ice Seguerra shared.
Ice also shared that his co-host in the longest-running noontime show had warned him about the awkward stage in showbiz. He was prepared for this mentally, but he was not prepared emotionally.

Even during the time when he was “nalaos,” he still continued doing some stints.
“Honestly, kahit nung time na nalaos ako, I never stopped working. Kasi, you know, I’m supporting my family. So, since nabawasan yung income ko, kailangan kong maghanap ng iba pa, ‘di ba? So, I never felt like I stopped working,” he shared.
On the other hand, he experienced a drastic change. Ice Seguerra shared that when he was a child, even just a single smile would make people scream. However, this changed when he became an adult.
The singer became busy in school when he was no longer doing showbiz projects. It also helped him that he has friends outside showbiz, and because of that, he still experienced a normal life.
