Filipino Fans Revisit Sabrina Carpenter’s Early PH Visit & Shanti Dope Collaboration Moment
SABRINA CARPENTER – Fans are taking a nostalgic trip back after remembering Sabrina Carpenter’s surprising collaboration with Shanti Dope on “Almost Love.”
Fans have recently been reminiscing about the early days of Sabrina Carpenter and her connection with Filipino artist Shanti Dope, following the pop star’s dazzling appearance at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Carpenter wowed audiences with her vibrant “Sabrinawood” fantasy-inspired stage concept, further cementing her status as one of today’s biggest pop acts. However, for many Filipino fans, her Coachella spotlight also brought back memories of her humble beginnings.
Sabrina Carpenter first made her Coachella debut in 2024, where she performed her viral hit “Espresso,” a song that helped elevate her global popularity. But long before she became a festival headliner, she had already visited the Philippines in 2018 during a promotional tour for her third studio album, “Singular: Act I.” At that time, she was still building her international reach and connecting with audiences through smaller events, including mall shows.

During her 2018 visit, Carpenter also appeared on the popular Philippine variety program “ASAP.” One of the most memorable moments from that appearance was her live performance of “Almost Love,” where she shared the stage with Filipino rapper Shanti Dope. Their collaboration became a standout moment for fans, eventually leading to alternate versions of the track, including acoustic and mixed renditions that showcased a different sound from the original release.
Since then, Carpenter’s career has continued to flourish. She has released an extended play and four additional studio albums, with “Short n’ Sweet” becoming a major milestone after winning a Grammy Award. The album featured several hit songs, including “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Bed Chem,” all of which further solidified her mainstream success.

Meanwhile, Shanti Dope has remained active in the Philippine music scene, consistently releasing new material. His recent works include “Ramdam Mo Ba?,” “Bloods & Crips,” and “One Take Freestyle.” He is also set to drop a new single titled “Kahinaan Ko” on April 24, continuing his steady presence in the industry.
Their past collaboration continues to be remembered fondly as both artists pursue their evolving musical journeys.
