Boarder Calls for Tighter Security After Doctor Robbed in Bacolod City

Boarder Request for Tighter Security After Doctor Due to Nearby Crime

A boarder in a boarding house in Bacolod City is now calling for tighter security after a doctor was held up just outside their home in Bacolod City.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on May 28, 2026, and was witnessed by one of the boarders, who was later identified as alias Bobby. He said he was near the highway when he saw the suspect pointing out what appeared to be a firearm at the victim, who was about to open the gate of the boarding house.

Bobby did not immediately go back inside and instead stayed away from the area for safety due to fear.

The boarder shared that their boarding house does not have a security guard, which is why he is now urging the management to consider hiring one following the incident. He added that he has only been staying in the apartment for about a month and does not personally know the doctor, identified as alias Sophia.

According to police investigation from Station 1 in Bacolod City, CCTV footage showed that the victim tried to fight back during the robbery. However, the suspect still managed to take the doctor’s bag, which contained a cellphone used for work.

The victim sustained injuries on the head and back after struggling with the suspect. She was immediately brought for medical attention and is now recovering from the incident.
