Many Christians believe that Jesus Christ Who lived as a human had 12 disciples. They were His companions as He thought and performed miracles. Below, you can find the details about six (6) of them.

Judas Iscariot
Judas Iscariot is known above all for betraying Jesus. Though he was chosen to be one of the 12 apostles and shared the ministry of Jesus, his heart was divided. While he heard the teachings of the Son of God and witnessed the miracles, he was a thief. He was entrusted with managing the disciples’ finances and the Scripture stated that he often stole from the money bag for his personal interest.

The turning point came during the Last Supper. Jesus openly revealed that one of His disciples would betray Him. Judas who knowing his left the gathering. He then conspired with the religious leaders and made a deal with them to hand Jesus over in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. That act led to Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion.
Thomas
Thomas began following Jesus Christ after he heard His teachings and witnessed His miracles. He is known for his cautious, questioning nature. After the Son of God resurrected and when He appeared to the disciples, Thomas initially refused to accept it. He even insisted that he would only believe if he could see and touch the wounds himself. That moment earned the apostle the nickname “Doubting Thomas”.
Yet, Thomas’ story didn’t end there. Tradition holds that he went on to spread the Gospel far beyond Israel. He even traveled the to distant regions to proclaim the message of salvation.
Andrew
Andrew, a fisherman, first met Jesus through John the Baptist’s testimony — when John declared Him to be the “Lamb of God”. Struck by this revelation, he immediately followed the Son of God and spent time with Him. His then looked for his brother, Simon, and brought him to Jesus.
He also introduced Peter who later became the most influential leaders of the early church and most prominent among the apostles. His life reflected a spirit of humility and obedience. He is consistently marked by his willingness to lead others to Christ.
Philip
Philip was personally chosen by Jesus Christ to be one of His 12 apostles. He answered the call without hesitation as he left his old life behind to follow the Lord. Alongside the other disciples, he witnessed the miracles of the Son of God and absorbed His teachings.
Philip became a messenger of the Kingdom of God. One of his most memorable moments was when he encountered a Ethiopian eunuch. Guided by the Holy Spirit, he approached the man and explained the meaning of the Scriptures he was reading. He led him to faith in Christ.
Bartholomew
Also known as Nathanael, Bartholomew first encountered Jesus Christ through Philip’s invitation. When Jesus saw him under the fig tree, He declared him to be a true Israelite without deceit. That moment of recognition deeply moved Bartholomew and led him to confess Jesus as the Son of God.
From then on, Bartholomew devoted himself to following Jesus and committed his life to spreading the message of the Gospel. He is remembered by the tradition as a faithful witness who carried the good news far beyond Israel.
James, the son of Alpheus
James, the son of Alphaeus, was one of the 12 apostles who walked with Jesus Christ since His early ministry. He gave up his former life to follow Christ and share in His daily experiences. He heard His teaching, witnessed His miracles, and lived in the presence of His transforming power.
Though Scripture offers only a few details about James, his quiet faithfulness speaks volumes. After Jesus’ ascension, he remained committed to the mission as he continued to proclaim the Gospel and spread the message of salvation wherever he went.
