Katrina Halili almost had this moment in her showbiz career
On September 30, in an episode of Chika Cart, hosts Baninay Bautista, Donita Nose, and Jeff Fernando, along with Kapuso star Katrina Halili, discussed the all-girl group Viva Hot Babes and their upcoming reunion concert.
One of the issues involving the group that they talked about
was the alleged envy toward the S*xBomb Girls, who had recently held a successful reunion concert titled Get Get Aw!.
That alleged jealousy was said to be the reason behind their own concert, titled Bulaklak: The Viva Hot Babes Reunion Concert, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
However, group members Maui Taylor and Andrea del Rosario clarified during a press conference that they were not envious, but rather “inspired” by the S*xBomb Girls.
They added that the project had been in the works since the early part of the year. “We were inspired by the S*xBomb [Girls],” Maui stated.
Then, Andrea added, “This was an idea way, way back—first quarter of this year, kung hindi ako nagkakamali.”
Meanwhile, the hosts asked Katrina about the story of how she almost became a member of the Viva Hot Babes in the past.
Katrina revealed that she was so young at that time and she had no idea about it. She was sent home because that image was not yet appropriate for her age.
“Kasi po dati, dinala po ako sa Viva tapos pinauwi po ako ni Boss Vic kasi raw po 17 pa lang ako. Tapos hindi ko na-gets, ‘yun pala, sexy pala kasi kaya ako pinauwi,” Katrina Halili shared.
The Kapuso actress also revealed that missing out on joining the group turned out to be a positive redirection for her. From her failed Viva Hot Babes attempt, she was included in the first season of Kapuso reality show StarStruck.
The hosts also praised Katrina’s enduring beauty and sultryness, recalling her recognition as FHM Magazine’s “S*xiest Woman” for consecutive years.
Katrina Halili took pride in having held a spot on that list for four years. “Two lang po kasi ‘yung pangatlo, kulang. Dalawang [taong] number one, isang [taong] number two, and isang [taong] number three,” he Kapuso actress said.
