IMEE MARCOS – The Senator is apologizing to her late father for not being able to guard her brother, President Bongbong Marcos.

Sen. Marcos visibly aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government. She’s one of those who are against the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Duterte was arrested by the Philippine authorities last March 11, 2025 upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). On the same day, the former President was flown out of the country for the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Sen. Imee Marcos recently urged the department of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to release the full details over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Marcos Jr. and the Philippine government were heavily-blamed over the unexpected turn of events.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the government acted on the arrest in lieu of its commitment with the Interpol. He also stressed that the issue was already present even before he came into the picture.

However, Sen. Imee Marcos left the senatorial slate of the Marcos Jr. admin then. Later on, she also accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs.

Recently, amid her visible alignment with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and the Duterte family, Sen. Imee Marcos spoke about being apologetic towards her late father, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Based on News5, she made her remarks as she recalled about her late Father’s teachings when it comes to asking forgiveness and forgiving.

According to Sen. Imee Marcos, she allegedly needs to apologize to the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. for failing on the usual reminder of her father to her — to supposedly guard her brother, now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

“Ang dapat ihingi ko ng tawad sa tatay ko… na hindi ko nagampanan, ‘yung utos niya… parating ibinibilin si Bongbong. “Bantayan mo ‘yung kapatid mo…” Di ko nabantayan, eh,” the Senator said based on the post.

Furthermore, Sen. Marcos also admitted that she fell short from guarding her brother. According to her, they rarely get to talk now.

“Maraming humaharang, maraming nagbabawal, maraming naninira. Hindi na kami nagkausap nang matagal at hindi ko nababantayan,” she claimed.

Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos spoke her side on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announcing her presidential bid.
