The lawyer of Atong Ang appeared before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
On Monday, the lawyer of Atong Ang made an appeal to exclude his client from the case before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Atty. Gabriel Villareal appeared before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday. He appealed for businessman Atong Ang to be excluded from the missing sabungeros case. He is facing charges of kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping.

In a previous article, Ang was advised by his attorney not to surrender until all legal remedies were exhausted. The DOJ reacted to this and said that the advice was unethical and went against the court order.
Until now, the businessman has remained missing, and due to this, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched a ‘massive manhunt’ to track him. Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said they are relaunching a large-scale manhunt involving the entire security apparatus just to find and arrest the wanted businessman.
To recall, the case started after six cockfighting enthusiasts went missing. They were identified as Mark Joseph Velasco, Marlon Baccay, James Baccay, Rowel Gomez, John Claude Inonog, and Rondel Cristorum. They were allegedly abducted by Ang, the mastermind of the case, as per the claims of the whistleblower.
Authorities recently announced a P10-million reward for information that can lead to Ang’s arrest. The regional trial courts of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, and Lipa City, Batangas, separately issued the arrest warrant against the tycoon and others.
