Toddler Passed Away After Being Shot by 2-Year-Old Cousin
A toddler dies after being shot by two-year-old cousin in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
On Thursday (March 19, 2026), the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported that death of a three-year-old child in a tragic accident involving a firearm.
The young victim was with a two-year-old cousin when they came across a gun left outside the house. With their innocence and lack of understanding, the children thought the object was just a toy.

Curious and unaware of the danger, they brought the gun inside a room and began playing with it. In the middle of their playtime, the younger child accidentally pulled the trigger. The gun fired and struck the three-year-old in the chest.
Family members quickly rushed the child to the nearest hospital, hoping to save their life. Sadly, despite their efforts, the child was declared dead on arrival. The sudden loss left the family and the entire community in deep grief.
Authorities have not shared further details about the case out of respect for the family’s request for privacy. The focus remains on giving them space as they cope with the tragedy.
