Counterflowing Car Driver Arrested in Pasay After Pulling Gun During Traffic Violation Stop
A 43-year-old driver who counterflowed was arrested in Pasay City after pulling a gun when confronted by a traffic enforcer.
The suspect, identified as Jomar, was driving an AUV when he was stopped at the corner of EDSA and Zamora Street for allegedly driving against traffic. The commotion started after the enforcer asked for his driver’s license and began processing the violation.
Jomar reportedly became confrontational and exited his vehicle. He then reached into his black belt bag and pulled out a gun, prompting the traffic enforcer to call for immediate police assistance.

Pasay City police officers responded quickly and were able to recover a .45-caliber pistol from the suspect, along with its magazine containing five bullets. Authorities also discovered that Jomar’s Permit to Carry Firearm Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) had already expired.
He is now facing charges for alarm and scandal under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code, as well as violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Republic Act 10591).
The incident took place around 3:00 p.m. on March 19, 2026, along Libertad Street. Police confirmed that the arrest was made peacefully without further incident, ensuring the safety of bystanders and the traffic enforcer involved.

Authorities are urging motorists to comply with traffic regulations and maintain valid licenses and permits for firearms if applicable.
