From one project to another, it is no wonder that Kaila Estrada is getting the attention and recognition she deserves because of her talent in acting. She is practically a newbie in the industry, but she has already proven her range when it comes to drama and action.
As one of the most promising in the industry, there is definitely no reason to wonder why, because talent really runs in her blood. Her parents, Janice De Belen and John Estrada, are both multi-awarded actors.
For Kaila, as the daughter of two of the most talented, seasoned actors in the entertainment industry, there’s a certain layer of pressure on her. They have achieved so much, but despite the pressure, she is making sure to do her thing at her own pace.
In an interview with PeopleAsia, she admitted that she felt the weight of expectations when she started her career in showbiz. She shared that there was an expectation she felt she had to live up to, especially because of her parents’ established names in the industry. However, she eventually reminded herself that her path would naturally be different from theirs.
“I am super scared [to work with them]. They are my parents and I’ve never sort of merged my two worlds: my working environment and my family. So, the idea of working with them and acting alongside them, parang OA na sa pressure,” she said.
She continued, “Thinking about it, parang may lump in my throat kasi of course my parents, they are really good with what they do. And at the same time, memorized ko na sila. So ‘yung mga facial reactions nila, what makes them impatient, or what makes them upset, and mga stuff like that.”
But if there were a chance, she would like to do different genres with each of them. She would like to do an action project with her father because this is something that they both enjoy doing. With her dramatic actress mother, she would want a drama project with her.
