Singer Gigi de Lana collapsed on stage after her recent performance in Samal Island City, Davao del Norte.
Gigi rose to fame as one of the contestants of Tawag ng Tanghalan, the singing competition segment in the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime. Even though she did not win during her season, fans continued supporting her because of how talented she is.
Her fame skyrocketed when she started doing live streams covering songs from various genres. Many netizens enjoyed her Gigi Vibes online shows. Her song covers went viral.
One of her recent gigs was in Samal Island City. A video taken after her performance caught the attention of the online community.
Netizen @TurbulentArachnid617 shared on Reddit under r/ChikaPH a video showing that Gigi de Lana was about to go down after her performance. She was walking towards the side of the stage while she was giving her microphone to a production staff member.
As she continued slowly walking to get down, the staff member held her hand to help her. It can be seen that Gigi’s stood unstable. Another staff member held her other hand. At this point, the singer was seen slightly leaning forward. It was also obvious that she was deeply breathing.
Then, Gigi collapsed, and a staff member abruptly held her before she fell on the floor. Fans who had been waiting for her at the side of the stage shouted when she almost fell.
Based on the update that SunStar Davao released, the management of Gigi de Lana assured fans that she is now safe and in stable condition after collapsing on stage. The report stated that the incident was caused by extreme fatigue that Gigi experienced.
Gigi’s fans could not help but express concern over her health. It can be recalled that in August last year, the singer opened up about her battle with bulimia.
