Authorities Arrest Fixer in Laguna for Allegedly Scamming Client
A fixer in Laguna is now facing criminal charges after he allegedly deceived his own client and failed to deliver what he promised.
The complaint was filed with the Land Transportation Office CALABARZON by a victim who claimed he was tricked into paying a large amount of money.
According to the victim’s statement, the fixer promised to speed up the processing of his transaction at the LTO Cabuyao District Office. In exchange for faster service, the fixer asked for payment.

The victim said he gave money little by little, trusting that his driver’s license would soon be released. However, the total amount he handed over reportedly reached P70,000, yet he still did not receive his license.
Instead, he was given repeated excuses and was told to wait longer. After realizing that nothing was happening, he decided to report the matter to authorities.
The LTO acted on the complaint right away and coordinated with the Philippine National Police for a deeper investigation. A case for estafa under Article 315 paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code was prepared against the suspect.

Hearings were later scheduled, but the fixer reportedly failed to attend. Because of this, the Municipal Trial Court in Cities of Biñan issued a warrant of arrest against him.
“Para sa mga fixer tigilan niyo na ang panloloko sa ating kapwa, lumaban po tayo ng patas at marangal. Para sa publiko huwag kayong matuksong makipagtransaksyon sa fixer. Makipag transaksyon lamang po sa mga opisina ng LTO at dumaan sa legal at tamang proseso. Kapag kayo ay nakipagsabwatan sa fixer, hindi lang kayo lumalabag sa batas, kundi nag-aambag din sa pagpapalaganap ng katiwalian.” RD Decena said.
Before he could be arrested by force, the fixer voluntarily surrendered to authorities to face the charges filed against him.
The incident reminds the public to avoid dealing with fixers and to process transactions directly with government offices to prevent fraud and financial loss.
