In a previous article, James E. Curtis-Smith passed away last January. ABS-CBN superstar Anne Curtis confirmed the passing of her father, sharing that he died peacefully. However, she did not disclose the cause of his death, describing it as an “unexpected yet peaceful” passing.
Her post back then read, “A true patriarch in every sense, he shaped us with strength, resilience, and a wit that will forever echo in our family. He was deeply loved, endlessly admired, and will live on in our hearts always. We will miss him dearly.”
Recently, as his late father marked his first birthday in heaven, Anne shared a post online with a heartfelt and touching message for him. On what would have been his special day, she expressed in her emotional birthday tribute filled with love and longing, “Happy birthday to my Father Dearest. Missing him with all of my heart.”
The actress reflected on the thought of her father in heaven, wondering what it must be like beyond this world, and with amazement, she imagined angels celebrating him on his birthday and hoped they would let him enjoy a glass of wine. This is such a tender detail that added warmth to her birthday post.
Though gone, her father’s presence clearly remains strong in her heart. She wrote, “If today, the angels celebrate him too, I hope they let him have a glass of wine. I know somewhere amongst the clouds and stars is where he sits, and that’s where I’ll raise my glass to.”
