Kapuso Actor Dingdong Dantes Clarifies Untruthful Claim
DINGDONG DANTES – The Kapuso actor denied the post claiming that he allegedly said that Vice President Sara Duterte has the intelligence and ability to lead the Philippines.
Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that she will run for president in 2028. Her declaration came along with an apology to the Filipino people for endorsing Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Duterte claimed that she saw that Marcos Jr. is allegedly not being true to his campaign promises. In 2022, they were running mates who pushed for the platform of unity. However, just around two (2) years since they won the elections, the President and the Vice President had a falling out in their ties.
Marcos Jr.’s strongest contender then was former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo. She also had a strong base of supporters which included several known personalities in the Philippine showbiz industry.
Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes is one of the showbiz celebrities who supports the call of former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo to ease corruption in the government and her ways to achieve the goal. In 2016, Dantes declared his support to Robredo citing her character and commitment to good governance.
In 2022, Dingdong Dantes did not explicitly named the candidates he support probably due to his existing contracts then but the supporters of former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo noticed his subtle nods and alignment with her. Not only Dingdong but as well as his wife, Kapuso actress Marian Rivera, is supportive of the former Vice President.
Recently, on social media, Dingdong Dantes belied the claim that he allegedly expressed his belief on the capacity of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to lead the country. The Kapuso actor posted a screenshot of the remarks being referred to him and clarified in the caption of the post that he did not say it.
Today, the Naga City Mayor met with the President in her hometown for the inspection of some flood control-related structures. Naga Mayor Leni Robredo spoke on her meeting with Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the speculations.
