Sen. Robin Padilla Talks About Possibility of Running in 2028 Elections despite Previous Pronouncement
ROBIN PADILLA – The Minority Senator admitted that he is open to run as the running mate of Vice President Sara Duterte in 2028.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has already announced that she will run for president in 2028 following her long silence on the call of her supporters. According to the daughter of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, it came to her that her life is not for her alone.

Vice Pres. Duterte admitted that she has long questioned the weight of the responsibilities of being the country’s leader. Her announcement about her presidential bid in 2028 came amid impeachment raps against her.
Shortly after Duterte announced that she is running for president in the next national polls, a lawyer filed the fourth impeachment complaint against her. The Vice President has long claimed that the filing of impeachment raps against her no longer surprise her.

After the Vice President announced her presidential bid in 2028, minority Sen. Robin Padilla claimed that he will support Vice Pres. Sara Duterte for president in 2028 and Sen. Imee Marcos for vice president. The presidential Sister neither confirmed nor denied running for vice president in the next national polls.
“Diyos ko, si Robin talaga. Well, kung sa bagay, talagang forever running mate ko naman talaga ‘yan. Ah takbo, gapang, luhod, ah patayo, paupo, hindi ko naman siya kailanman iniwanan,” Marcos said.

Recently, former Commission on Election (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon seemingly encouraged Sen. Robin Padilla to be the running mate of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She stressed that Mindanao and Visayas support Duterte while Padilla is supported by the Mindanaoans and popular in Luzon.
Recently, Sen. Robin Padilla admitted that he is open to running as the running mate of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the 2028 Elections. Based on a report of News5, the actor-turned-Senator claimed that he is willing to do so if former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will order it.

“Kapag utos ni Digong. Walang pwedeng mag utos sa akin kahit sino, si Digong lang. Kasi ayaw ko talaga ng pulitika, alam naman lahat ng nanay ko alam yan, mga kapatid ko, asawa ko. Basta sinabi ni Digong susunod ako,” Padilla said.
Based on the report, Sen. Robin Padilla also claimed that he is ready to serve as the vice president of the country. He described the position as allegedly like a “spare tire”.
“Ipinanganak po tayong ready. Lalo na yan, para sa akin… Vice President, hindi naman masyadong ano yan… puro advocacy lang ‘yan eh. Parang ikaw ang spare tire, ‘di ba? Kayang kaya ‘yan,” the Senator said.
