A social media page used the name of Vice Ganda
Unkabogable Star and Phenomenal Box-office Star Vice Ganda has warned the public against a syndicate using his name and videos.
Vice is one of the most successful showbiz personalities nowadays. His success has been an inspiration to many people. His popularity also meant the influence that he has to the people. This is the reason why he had several endorsement projects, as brands have trusted him.
However, his popularity is also being used by some other people to take advantage of those who were gullible enough to fall for their evil schemes.
In a recent social media post, based on the article in Bandera, Vice Ganda warned the public against scams.
The TV host-comedian has learned that there are groups of scammers who are preying on social media using his name and old YouTube videos.
Vice has reposted on his social media accounts the online sites that are spreading fake news and using his old content to deceive.
“SCAM ALERT! May mga gumagamit ng lumang live videos ko at nagpapanggap na ako para makapang-scam! HUWAG PO KAYONG PALOKO!” the It’s Showtime host wrote. The fake social media page used the name “Meme Vice.”
He also reminded the public that his verified Facebook account is what he is officially using on the said platform.
Based on the comments from netizens, it appeared that there were already some of them who received messages from the scammer. Some netizens also shared their experiences after falling victim to the aforementioned syndicate on social media.
Vice Ganda advised the public to be critical of everything they read and watch on social media, especially if there are suspicious activities.
“Kung may kahina-hinalang activity mula sa non-verified accounts na ginagamit ang aking pangalan, i-report agad! Mag-ingat at maging mapanuri!” the Unkabogable Star said.
