Male Netizen Slams Traffic Enforcer for Issuing Ticket to Passenger Instead of Driver Who Commits Violation
A male netizen criticized a traffic enforcer for allegedly issuing a ticket to a passenger instead of the driver who committed a counterflow violation.
Recently, John Mark Barde Calinao, a Facebook user, shared a video showing a traffic enforcer reportedly issuing a ticket to the motorcycle passenger rather than the driver who counterflowed on the road. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions online.
According to the post, the motorcycle driver admitted to counterflowing, which is a clear traffic violation. However, instead of issuing the ticket to the driver, the enforcer reportedly wrote the name of the passenger on the violation slip.

While the driver had already admitted the counterflow violation, the ticket reportedly listed the passenger as unlicensed. It raised questions online, as many believed that the driver should be held responsible for the traffic offense, not the passenger riding along.
Some netizens shared the same frustration, saying that traffic rules should be enforced fairly and clearly. Others asked whether there was a local ordinance that allowed passengers to be ticketed under such circumstances, as this is not commonly practiced in most areas.
The netizen who posted the video clarified that the fine was eventually paid after the post was shared. He explained that the video was uploaded only to raise awareness and to encourage proper and fair enforcement of traffic rules.
His intention, he said, was not to shame anyone but to raise discussion and understanding among motorists and authorities.
Many netizens hope that similar situations can be avoided in the future through clearer guidelines and better communication between traffic enforcers and road users.

The video has a caption:
“IT’S MORE FUN IN DUMARAO . GA LUPOK 500!!! Pwede ticketan ang angkas hw? Kung bout e impound nyo nalang ipaagi SA legal ndi Kay Ang manug balik SA city ang passenger e hold nyo kwaan I’d kag ticketan? Ano persahanay?
