This is what Mariel Padilla said after Robin Padilla expressed no plans to run in the next election.
Senator Robin Padilla has no plans to run again in the next election, and Mariel Padilla has this to say about her husband’s decision.
Mariel Padilla said her husband, Senator Robin Padilla, has decided that he will not run for another elective post in the 2028 elections. She shared this during her appearance on Julius Babao’s Unplugged when she was asked about her husband’s political plans.

According to her, the senator has already made up his mind about not running again. She quipped, “Robin does not. Ayaw na niya.”
She added that her husband had, at times, considered resigning out of frustration with the slow pace of government work, but ultimately continues to think about the people who voted for him.
Mariiel added that these are the moments when she would feel like the public doesn’t deserve her husband’s efforts. This is especially during moments when his remarks would be taken out of context. She feels her husband is unappreciated in public service, which makes her feel it’s best if he doesn’t run again.
“May days ako na last na talaga ‘to, tatapusin na natin ‘to. Sometimes I feel lalo na when they take out of context what he says or they say stuffs about him parang I feel na they don’t deserve him, may mga ganon ako,” she expressed.
In the same interview, she added that ever since Robin became a senator, their lifestyle has not changed. They had no new car, no new house, and anything else that came from his being a senator.
For her, he is not a politician. He is a public servant. It has always been his intention to help other people, and this has been his way ever since she met him.
