Statement of Malacañang on Sen. Imee Marcos’ Remarks over Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Health

Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro reacted to the remarks of Senator Imee Marcos on the health of President Bongbong Marcos.

Palace press officer Usec. Claire Castro previously announced that Pres. Bongbong Marcos spent a night under medical observation. According to her, the President experienced some discomfort and was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center.

The doctors of Marcos Jr. advised him to rest and be monitored. He is now back in Malacañang. Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and presidential son and House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos were among those who stood in behalf of the President in some events.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos junked the death rumors about him after he was hospitalized. According to the Chief Executive, he has been diagnosed with diverticulitis which he claimed is related to stress and aging. According to him, his doctors advised him to rest but he has a lot of work to do.

Recently, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos reacted to the health condition of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to him, no one in the Malacañang Palace is allegedly taking care of her brother as each person who surrounds him supposedly has a personal intention.

The Senator called on the President to turn his back from everyone surrounding him in Malacañang. According to her, none of the said people allegedly really loves him and they are supposedly just distractions to him.

“Nagkasakit na nga si Bongbong. Pambihira talaga. Wala kasing nag-aalaga sa kanya… Kaya kung ako sa kanya, pangalagaan muna niya ang sarili niya, magpalakas siya,” the Senator said.

Recently, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro spoke on the remarks of Sen. Imee Marcos over the health condition of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on PhilStar Global, the Palace official stressed that the health of the President should not be taken as a joke.

“Huwag natin gawing biro ang kalusugan ng Pangulo. Huwag maging komedyante o payaso sa pagbibigay ng payo,” she said.

Atty. Claire Castro further stressed that someone who goes through a health ordeal needs genuine concern. Based on the report, the Malacañang press official called on Sen. Imee Marcos not to be a hypocrite.

“Totoong puso at pagkalinga ang kailangan ng isang tao na may pinagdaanang karamdaman. Huwag magpakaplastik sa mata ng nakararami,” the Palace Official said.

Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos also reacted to the filing of an impeachment complaint against PBBM.
