Sen. Imee Marcos Doubts Authenticity of Impeachment Complaint vs. PBBM?
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator reacted to the impeachment complaint filed against her brother, President Bongbong Marcos.
An impeachment complaint was recently filed against Marcos Jr. before the House Secretary General’s office. The complaint is endorsed by Pusong Pinoy party-list Rep. Jett Nisay. The President is accused of alleged betrayal of public trust in the said complaint.
The alleged surrender of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) was cited in the impeachment complaint versus Marcos Jr. The President’s supposed corruption through the flood control projects was also mentioned as one of the grounds.
Furthermore, Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ alleged illegal drug use was also cited as one of the grounds in the impeachment complaint against him. It was his own sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, who previously testified that the President is supposedly using illegal drugs.
Sen. Imee Marcos made her claim in front of thousands of members of Iglesia ni Cristo who joined the rally. According to her, their family is allegedly aware of the supposed problem with Marcos Jr. even when their father, the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was still alive.
With directly calling for the resignation of Marcos Jr., the presidential Sister asked her brother to go home and undergo treatment. According to her, she can afford to see him losing the presidency but she cannot afford to lose him to illegal drugs.
Recently, the reaction of Sen. Imee Marcos to the impeachment complaint filed against Pres. Bongbong Marcos was sought. According to News5, the presidential Sister called the impeachment complaint filed against her brother as a “drama series”.
“Isa na namang drama series na mukhang tatagal ng isang taon. Kilala naman natin sinong nag-file at anong background kaya ‘yun nga baka drama series lang ‘to para sa isang taong tagal,” she said.
Sen. Imee Marcos further claimed that it is allegedly obvious that the impeachment complaint is seemingly for show. According to her, many movies with the same plot became a hit.
“Masyadong obvious na drama series. Marami tayong napanood na pelikula na ganun eh. Bumenta na ‘yun sa takilya,” the Senator added.
Sen. Imee Marcos was also asked if they can still work as senators amid the possibility of two (2) impeachment complaints being pushed in the House of Representatives. Based on the post, she spoke on the possible filing of a fresh impeachment rap against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
“Kung lulusot ‘yan, senator judge kami pareho ni Sen. Marcoleta pero hindi na ako magkokomento tungkol sa ikalawang impeachment complaint na inaasahan tutol kay VP Sara pero sa palagay ko alam na ng Kongreso ang nangyari noong nakaraang eleksyon,” Marcos said.
Amid the issues between them, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also asked about the filing of an impeachment complaint against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
