Carla Abellana Reveals Her Plan to Have a Baby w/ Dr. Reginald
CARLA ABELLANA – Fresh from her intimate wedding, Carla Abellana is now opening up about her next big life goal—starting a family, even if it means going through IVF.
Kapuso actress Carla Abellana has openly shared that starting a family is now a priority for her and her husband, Dr. Reginald Santos, following their recent marriage. Now officially married, the couple is excited about the possibility of welcoming their first child, especially as Carla approaches a significant milestone, turning 40 in June 2026.
With both of them eager to build a family, Carla revealed that they are hopeful their upcoming honeymoon in Europe could be the beginning of that journey. She admitted that time is a major consideration, which is why they are exploring all possible options to conceive. Among these is in vitro fertilization or IVF, a method they are open to if needed.
In an interview with “24 Oras,” Carla Estrada expressed her hopes and realities about motherhood, saying, “Hopefully, makapag-start na kami mag-build ng family, if God permits. ‘Yun ang focus bilang, of course, the clock is ticking din. Magpo-40 na ako this year.” She also revealed that she has already taken a proactive step by freezing her eggs as a backup plan. According to her, “Let’s say, hirap man kami na mag-conceive naturally, at least merong ganu’ng backup, merong ganu’ng option.”
Aside from talking about family planning, Carla also opened up about her intimate wedding with Dr. Reginald, which took place on December 27 in Alfonso, Cavite. In her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she described the emotions following the ceremony, sharing, “Parang high na high ka pa from the wedding. Nandoon pa rin ‘yung excitement, ‘yung adrenaline.” She compared it to her previous, more public wedding and explained why this time they chose something simpler and more private.
She elaborated, “Parang kabaliktaran, kasi unang-una gusto namin intimate ‘yung wedding and very private lang siya. And pangalawa, dahil siya e, very private din na tao. Very ano siya, very as in non-showbiz,” highlighting her husband’s preference for a low-key life away from the spotlight.
Carla Estrada also revealed that Dr. Reginald is her first love. They were together during high school, separated, and then reconnected decades later. Recalling how they found each other again, she shared, “Siguro mga 2022 or 2023 po na Christmas. Out of the blue, nag-greet lang po siya through private message po on social media ng ‘Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.’”
Reflecting on their reunion, Carla said, “Noong nagkita kami ulit after more than 20 years, parang walang lumipas na panahon.” She added that being with him brings her peace, describing their bond as natural and effortless, with personalities that instantly clicked once again.
