Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Reminds Students, Teachers about Education’s Value
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President visited Oriental Mindoro and gave an inspiring speech to remind the students, parents, and teachers about education.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) is set to get an P889 million budget this year. Previously, the proposed budget was reduced by the House of Representatives after Vice Pres. Duterte ditched the session in the lower chamber but the Senate moved to restore the original amount in the proposal.
In fact, some Duterte allies in the Senate like Senator Bong Go offer to give more budget for the OVP. Sen. Go, a long time aide of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, gave some of the budget of his office to the OVP.
Out of the P889.2 million budget for the office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte for 2026, confidential and intelligence funds are not included. Duterte’s office opted not to ask for confidential funds amid the accusations against the Vice President.
Vice Pres. Duterte allegedly misused P625 million confidential funds of the OVP as well as the Department of Education when she was still the DepEd secretary. It was last June 19, 2024 when Duterte resigned from being the education secretary.
Since the start of a new year, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has been visiting several places in the Philippines to bring the programs of the OVP and to speak to the people. Recently, she returned to Oriental Mindoro.
Based on a post on the official Facebook page of the Vice President, VP Sara Duterte returned to Oriental Mindoro to visit and personally be part of the programs of her office in the province. According to her, she went to Pola and Baco where she gave a message for the students, the teachers, the parents, and the residents in the area.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she reminded them of the value of education and she ensured that the students will not be swayed by doing bad things. Based on the post, the Vice President brought giveaways to the students, too.
“Bahagi ito ng ating adbokasiya na panatilihing mapayapa ang ating komunidad na siyang susi sa ligtas at maayos na pagaaral ng ating mga kabataan.” she expressed.
Recently, there were rumors that the Congress might supposedly have to deal with two (2) impeachment complaints and one is allegedly against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
