Malacañang Says Marcos Jr. Ready To Face Any Impeachment Case against him: “Hindi po siya nagnakaw ng pera”

Statement of Malacañang on Impeachment Talks against Marcos Jr.

Malacañang claimed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is ready to face any impeachment case against him citing he did not stole money.

Following the signing of the 2026 national fund amounting to P6.79 trillion, Mamamayang Liberal Partylist Representative Leila de Lima and House Senior Deputy Minority Leader Rep. Edgar Erice showed documents as they claimed of filing a complaint before the Supreme Court to challenge the spending law passed.

De Lima and Erice question the presence of the unprogrammed funds in the 2026 national fund. The question came even after Marcos Jr. rejected 7 out of 10 unprogrammed appropriations which are as follows:

  • Government Counterpart for Certain Foreign-Assisted Projects: P35.77 billion
  • Budgetary Support for Government Owned and Controlled Corporations: P6.895 billion
  • Insurance of Government Assets and Interests: P2 billion
  • Prior Years’ Local Government Unit Shares: P14.623 million
  • RACE Program (Automotive Industry Competitiveness): P250 million
  • CARS Program (Automotive Industry Support): P4.32 billion
  • Payment of Personnel Services Requirements: P43.245 billion

Amid the questions and the complaint, House Senior Deputy Minority Leader Rep. Edgar Erice claimed that an impeachment complaint may allegedly be filed against Pres. Bongbong Marcos when the session of the Congress resumes. Recently, Malacañang reacted to the impeachment talks against the President.

Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is ready to face any impeachment complaint that may be filed against him. Based on a report on GMA News, the Malacañang official also stressed that the Chief Executive respects the Constitution.

”Ang Pangulo naman handa naman po sa lahat ng pagkakataon dahil siya po ay gumagalang sa Konstitusyon, gumagalang po siya sa proseso,” Castro said.

Based on the report, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro also stressed that if the impeachment talks is in line with the budget law passed, Marcos Jr. supposedly did not steal money. The Palace official also emphasized that it was the President who initiated the investigation of the flood control anomalies.

”Pero kung pag-uusapan po natin ay breach of public trust dahil nabanggit ito tungkol sa diumanong pagpirma sa GAA, ang Pangulo po, unang-una, hindi po siya nagnakaw ng pera. Pangalawa, siya po ang nagpapaimbestiga sa mga maanomalyang flood control projects at maaaring naging sanhi ng korapsiyon. Pangatlo, wala po siyang ‘Mary Grace Piattos,‘” the Palace Official said.

Previously, after the ceremonial signing of the country’s fund for this year held at the Malacañang Palace, Malacañang spoke on the side of the Marcos Jr. admin over the 2026 national budget.
