Gerald Anderson admitted that it was his dream to work with Richard Gutierrez
Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson talked about his upcoming project with actor Richard Gutierrez.
Gerald has been reaping the success of his acting career for many years now. One of his upcoming projects in 2026 is with the actor he hopes to work with.
Late last month, it was alrady announce that Gerald and Richard will be teaming up in a series. It is their first project together.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Gerald Anderson expressed his excitement about this project. He has been wanting to collaborate with Richard Gutierrez.
“When I saw Chard sa station ID shoot (last year), I said, ‘This guy is on my bucket list. I really want to work with him! Wala pa itong show nun. So I think I manifested it (laughs),” Gerald shared.
The actor who rose to fame through the reality show Pinoy Big Brother acknowledges that Richard was already way more ahead of him when it comes to experience in the entertainment industry, especially in the action genre, but there was no feeling of rivalry.
Gerald quipped that he can’t be a rival with Richard because he’s Captain Barbell. The latter played this role in a series. Then, he mentioned a recent interview in which Richard said that he is a very competitive person.
“And for us to be working on the same team and ganun mindset niya, with this kind of story, good luck sa iba! (laughs),” he said. He added that, without boasting, he can say that they have a secret weapon in their team, someone who is very passionate as an actor and as a person.
Gerald also commended Richard’s longevity in the entertainment industry, and he is happy that they are finally sharing the same frame. He also said that he wanted to say more things about their upcoming project, but they are not yet allowed.
However, Gerald said that it is a “perfect combination.” “Me, him, and this project. You have a passionate actor who’s been doing this and still at the top of his game. It’s going to be exciting. Super exciting,” he said.
The upcoming series is directed by FM Reyes. Gerald Anderson also shared why he immediately said yes to this project.
The actor said that he has a deep and beautiful story. He and Richard both have big responsibilities on their shoulders. However, he is confident because they have a great team, which is composed of geniuses and brilliant people.
