Nic Chien Breaks Silence on Parents’ Separation & Sets the Record Straight
NIC CHIEN – Actor, singer, and visual artist Nic Chien has finally addressed the swirling rumors surrounding the separation of his parents, Lea Salonga and Robert Chien.
Nic Chien has spoken up to dispel speculation surrounding the separation of his parents, Lea Salonga and Robert Chien. In a recent appearance on Rated Korina, Nic candidly addressed the rumors and clarified the situation between them, assuring viewers that there was no wrongdoing or betrayal involved in their decision to part ways.
During his conversation with host Korina Sanchez, Nic emphasized that his parents maintain a healthy, respectful relationship despite no longer being romantically together. He made it clear that the end of their marriage was not caused by infidelity or animosity, but rather by a shift in their romantic connection. According to Nic, while their love story may have changed, the care and respect they have for each other remain intact.
“My parents are on very good terms. My dad never cheated on my mom, number one. My parents are still friends, number two. And they love each other, but they don’t love each other romantically. They care about each other very much, and they both love me very much,” Nic said, emphasizing that respect and love remain between his parents.
He also shared that both Lea and Robert continue to support him wholeheartedly as a family. Nic underscored that their separation has not diminished their commitment to co-parenting or their dedication to his well-being.
Addressing questions about moving forward, Nic expressed openness toward his parents finding happiness individually. He revealed that his father is currently in a new relationship and that he has warmly welcomed the woman into his life.
“They can both pursue relationships and it’s totally fine with me. My dad is with another woman, a very lovely woman. She’s my stepmother and I love her very much. It doesn’t mean that I’m betraying my mom. I love my mom more because she’s my biological mom,” he explain.
Through his honest statements, Nic painted a picture of a modern family grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and enduring love.
