Miss Cosmo Fires Back After Ahtisa Manalo Interview Sparks Controversy

Miss Cosmo Issues Strong Statement Following Viral Ahtisa Manalo Interview

AHTISA MANALO – The Miss Cosmo organization has finally responded after a past pageant accident resurfaced following Ahtisa Manalo’s viral interview.

Following the viral interview of Miss Universe 2025 third runner-up Ahtisa Manalo with Vice Ganda, officials of the Miss Cosmo organization have released a response addressing the renewed attention surrounding the stage collapse incident during Miss Cosmo 2024.

According to reports, the interview reached the management of Miss Cosmo, who were reportedly displeased with how the accident was discussed, noting that it appeared to be treated as a joke. The issue prompted an official reaction from Jay Luu, head of marketing and communications of the Miss Cosmo International organization.

Through an Instagram Story, Luu acknowledged that an accident did occur during the pageant preparations but emphasized that the situation was immediately addressed. In his statement, he said, “turning an accident into a joke doesn’t make you brave. it only proves how small your perspective is. yes, there was an accident during the stage construction last year. that is a fact ah!”

Luu went on to clarify what he described as the full context of the incident, adding, “but here is the full fact you conveniently ignore: within 48 hours, a second stage was built and acompletely new, large scale stage was delivered for the Grand Finale.” He stressed that the organization took swift action to ensure the success and safety of the event.

He also criticized what he perceived as selective storytelling, stating, “if you want to speak the truth, speak all of it not the part that feeds your mockery, while erasing your own failures from the conversation mocking someone else’s setback is easy when you’ve never built anything that carries real risk, real pressure or real responsibility.”

Luu further explained the organization’s stance on setbacks, saying, “Failure is not something we deny, we carry it, fix it, and move forward.” He added that repeatedly humorously revisiting the incident reflects a lack of growth, noting, “But clinging to the past, replaying it as a joke, only proves one thing: you stopped growing the moment it happened.”

Despite the criticism, Luu made it clear that Miss Cosmo remains focused on progress. “we accept failure to rise and we let go to become better so laugh if you want,” he said, concluding with, “we will keep building and results, as always, speak louder than noise.”

The statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with netizens debating accountability, resilience, and how past incidents should be discussed publicly.
