Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Update on Flood Control Investigation
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President informed the Filipino people that the arrest warrant against Sarah Discaya is set to be released this week.
Previously, Marcos Jr. already ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to check the whereabouts of Sarah Discaya. Undeniably, among the contractors who are allegedly involved in the flood control mess, the Discayas are the most popular.

One of the construction firms owned by the Discayas was one of those flagged by Marcos Jr. for allegedly winning a huge part of the flood control deals of the government. The controversial contractors attended several Senate flood control hearings.
Curlee and Sarah Discaya tagged several government officials in the alleged kickback system in the flood control projects of the government. Among those congressmen that they tagged were former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Pasig Congressman Roman Romulo, Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, and Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro.

The government officials tagged by the Discayas in their joint affidavit that was read during a Senate flood control probe denied their accusations. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the flood control investigation found a P100-billion ghost flood control project of a company owned by Sarah Discaya in Davao Occidental.

The Discayas have several construction companies. During a Senate flood probe, Sarah Discaya admitted that there were instances when their companies bid for the same projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos released another update on the ongoing flood control investigation in the country. Based on a video posted on the official Facebook account of the Chief Executive, the Commission on Appeals has already frozen several bank accounts and assets that are allegedly involved in the supposed flood control anomalies.
“Kabuuang 280 bank account ang na-freeze, 22 insurance policy, tatlong securities account, at 2 sasakyang pang himpapawid… Kailangan natin ng mga freeze order na ito para hindi maibenta ang mga ari-arian at para maibalik natin sa ating mga kababayan ang bawat pisong pinaghihinalaang ninakaw,” Marcos Jr. said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also announced that 8 officials of the DPWH have sent letters informing their pursuit to surrender to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). According to him, the warrant of arrest against Sarah Discaya is also expected to be out this week.
“Inaasahan na rin nating lalabas ang warrant of arrest na ni Sarah Discaya itong linggong ito at hindi na rin magtatagal ang pag-aaresto sa kanya,” he expressed.
Based on the post, Pres. Bongbong Marcos assured that the flood control investigation will continue as well as the charging for accountability of those who are guilty in the corruption issues. He stressed that the government remains committed in the pursuit to return the people’s money.
The Independent Commission for Infrastructure leads the flood control investigation. However, recently, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the ICI flood control probe might stop soon.
