BONGBONG MARCOS – The President claimed that he really didn’t want to enter politics then and his parents were disappointed.

Marcos Jr. is currently past the third year of his term as president of the country. Truth be told that the Philippine government is faced with massive corruption issues now that left countless Filipinos disappointed. The President vowed that the government will extend accountability over the issue.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously said that resignation of the government officials linked to the flood control mess is not enough. He also recently claimed that many individuals who are guilty in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption will spend Christmas behind the bars.

Even Marcos Jr. himself was dragged into the corruption issue. Former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co claimed that the President and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly inserted P100-billion in the 2025 national budget.

Zaldy Co also accused Marcos Jr. and Romualdez of supposedly receiving a P56-billion kickback all for themselves. Previously, the President claimed that he did not regret being on the presidency despite the many issues in the country now.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos even called the presidency as the “greatest privilege” as he has the chance to do something over the problems he used to complain about. Recently, the Chief Executive admitted that he did not really like to enter politics when he was younger.

Based on a post of News5 on social media, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that he saw the sacrifice of his father, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos. He claimed that he just wanted a peaceful life.

Marcos Jr. also revealed that his parents were dismayed over his lack of interest to enter politics then. Based on the post, he stressed that life can’t really be predicted.

“Medyo nadidismaya sa akin magulang ko kasi nag-iisa akong lalaki. Pero ayaw na ayaw ko [pumasok ng politika], nakikita ko magulang ko ang hirap ng buhay nila, ang daming sakripisyo…Sabi [ko] tahimik lang na buhay, that’s why I went to business school,” the President said.

Aside from Pres. Bongbong Marcos, his elder sister, Senator Imee Marcos, is also in politics for decades now. Their children including presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos are also in the same field now. However, recently, Sen. Imee Marcos accused PBBM of allegedly using illegal drugs.
