Sen. Lito Lapid hoped that the allegations against his fellow senators were not true
Senator Lito Lapid expressed sadness over the involvement of his fellow senators in the anomalous flood control projects.
Lapid is just one of the many showbiz personalities who eventually ventured into politics. For many years, he has served as a senator for many years and he continues to receive support from his supporters and fans. While doing his duty as a public servant, he would also do some acting projects. The most recent appearance he had was in the Kapamilya primetime action-drama series Batang Quiapo.
Just recently, several senators were dragged into the issue of flood control projects, such as Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva, as well as Senator Chiz Escudero, former Senators Bong Revilla, Nancy Binay and Grace Poe.

Sen. Lito Lapid commented on the involvement of several current and former senators in the issue of corruption in anomalous flood control projects in a recent media interview, based on the article in Balita.
The Senator said that he is saddened by what is happening now to his fellow senators, and he hoped there is no truth to this. “Nalulungkot naman ako syempre… Sana hindi totoo,” Lapid said.
Then, the actor-politician pointed out that the blame must be on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). He said that the agency was the one that implemented this and not his fellow senators. “Hndi naman dumadaan ang budget sa amin,” he stressed.

Lapid added that there were those who requested for budget for a certain project, but this was not being done by senators. He said that they are hoping that the accusations against several senators were not true.
“Ikinalulungkot ko, syempre kaibigan natin ‘yon, mga kasamahan natin dito ‘yan. Sana mapatunayan natin na hindi totoo,” Sen. Lito Lapid said.
It can be recalled that in November, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed the charges to be filed against former and current senators.
