Bongbong Marcos Believes Son Sandro Not Involved in Flood Control Anomalies

PCO Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos over Son Sandro being Dragged into the Budget Insertion Issue

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President believes that his son, Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos, is not involved in the flood control anomalies.

While he did not return to the Philippines to face the flood control corruption accusations against him, former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co tagged presidential son and Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos in the budget insertion mess. He claimed that the young Congressman has supposedly inserted over P50 billion in the national budget in just three years.

Co took to social media photos of the alleged list of the budget insertions of the Marcos scion. Based on his post, there were a lot of flood control projects that were supposedly inserted by the presidential Son in the national budget.

In his response to his accusations, Cong. Sandro Marcos claimed that an intel allegedly suggest that Zaldy Co has supposedly struck a deal with those who will benefit from the downfall of the Marcos Jr. administration. He also reiterated the accusations against the former House member which he refused to face.

Following the accusations of Zaldy Co against him, presidential son and Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos expressed his readiness to appear before the ICI (Independent Commission for Infrastructure). The independent commission was created upon the order of his father, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, for the flood control investigation.

Recently, the Presidential Communications Office spoke on the side of Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the budget insertion accusations against his son, Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos. According to PCO Secretary Dave Gomez, the Chief Executive believes that his son is not involved in flood control anomalies. Meanwhile, he clarified that Marcos Jr. assured that he will have it investigated.

“The President… said that he believes that so far, there are no allegations of corruption in those projects. But he assured me yesterday that he’s looking into it,” Gomez said.

Based on a report on Inquirer, Cong. Sandro Marcos recently appeared before the ICI but he requested an executive session as he does not want his claims to affect the investigation on the flood control mess. The three-member body immediately granted the request of the presidential son.

Previously, following the claim of the former House member against his son, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the camp of Zaldy Co was allegedly attempting to blackmail him.
