The buzz about the ABS-CBN TV5 partnership termination. These are the statements released.
ABS-CBN TV5 PARTNERSHIP TERMINATION – The Kapamilya company has confirmed receiving the notice of termination.
In a previous article, a statement from TV5 about ABS-CBN was released. In the same statement, the Kapatid network accused ABS-CBN of “willful, fraudulent, and repeated refusal” to give TV5 its revenue share under their content supply agreement. The several demands and concessions made were not made.

TV5 formally demanded the payment of ₱946.16 million as of October 30, 2025, emphasizing ABS-CBN’s failure to remit the amount. The network also claimed that the supposed “payment-plan discussions” were merely a tactic to stall the settlement.
The TV5 company received an email from ABS-CBN stating that they cannot comply with the scheduled payment, and without the assurance of when the future payment will be made. Despite this, TV5 went on to air their shows and shouldered the programming and operational costs.
This incident, however, prompted TV5 to terminate the agreement, effective January 2, 2026.
ABS-CBN released a statement after the revelation erupted online. The corporation vowed to settle the disputed payment claims of nearly a billion pesos after it confirmed that they have received the notice terminating their TV Content Supply Agreement.
They has sought more time to settle the amount and is “doing everything we can to address these payments” within the 30 days given by TV5. The Lopez-led company denied it had “willfully delayed payment,” and asked for understanding after they suffered severe losses after they were shut down.
After losing its broadcast franchise, ABS-CBN shifted to producing content for former rivals like TV5 and later GMA Network, as well as smaller channels such as Manny Villar’s ALLTV and Eddie Villanueva’s A2Z. It also partnered with streaming platforms like Netflix and Viu, and merged its local and international streaming services under iWant.
Following the looming termination of agreement, will ABS-CBN-produced show continue to air in TV5? Based on a report, TV5 confirmed that ABS-CBN shows will still be aired on the Kapatid channel.
