Counterflowing Motorcycle Rider Dies After Crashing Into Oncoming Van

A counterflowing motorcycle rider lost his life after crashing into an oncoming van along Diego Cera Avenue in Las Piñas.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, a 25-year-old motorcycle rider died after counterflowing in Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Piñas. The accident happened at around 2:31 a.m.

CCTV footage showed that the victim was not speeding, but he was seen crossing into the opposite lane as he attempted to overtake two other motorcycles ahead of him. This led to a direct collision with the van coming from the opposite direction.

The strong impact threw him off his motorcycle and sent him crashing onto the windshield of the van.

According to barangay responder Ceejay Naron, the rider collided head-on with the van after trying to overtake. Despite being rushed immediately to the nearby hospital right across the accident site, the victim could no longer be revived. Responders found him with no pulse and no signs of breathing upon arrival.

The crash left the motorcycle completely wrecked. The front part of the van was heavily damaged, and its windshield was shattered from the force of the impact.

Authorities have taken the van driver into police custody. It was later discovered that the driver did not have a valid license at the time of the incident, adding another serious concern to the case.

An investigation is ongoing to determine all factors that contributed to the accident.

The accident reminds the public of the risks of counterflowing and overtaking in unsafe conditions, especially during late hours when visibility is low. As authorities look deeper into the case, the community is once again reminded of the importance of road discipline and proper licensing to prevent similar tragedies.
