Was Vice Ganda being disrespectful?
In a reply, Vice Ganda lectured a comment criticising her candid comment and accusing her of disrespecting a Thai artist.
The Miss Universe 2025 winner is Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, whose victory is surrounded by so many issues. There have been power struggles and allegations of predetermined judging. Some pageant fans even expressed that her win is a “peace offering” from the organisers.
Beyond these accusations, the issue isn’t really about the Latina queen herself. Instead, it highlights deeper problems within the organisation—political interests, internal power struggles, and competing agendas that influence the results of one of the world’s most prestigious pageants.
In the Philippines, many agreed that it was an obvious cooking show. Among those who watched the pageant and vocal about her opinion was Vice Ganda, who publicly aired their dislike and distaste of the results.
During the pageant, she’s been posting her thoughts about the events and happenings in the pageant, and among those things are the repeated acts of a Thai artist. It was just a candid post with her famous brand of humour, but a netizen took it seriously.
In a reply, the netizen accused her of disrespecting the artist through her post. Many people reacted to the comment, telling the user to read the post again, as it did not indicate any hate towards the artist and that there was nothing offensive about it.

This has caught the attention of the superstar comedian. She took to social media to address mounting criticism and clarified that the remark was not meant to insult or disrespect anyone.
“Did I say anything bad about him? Juliet juliet means inulit. Masama yun?” she wrote, and added that it was the commenter’s overreaction that made the post unacceptable. She expressed that creating unnecessary drama only adds to personal stress and further fuels online conflict.
“I never said anything ill about the performer. It was you who chose to give it an ill meaning, that’s why you’re pissed,” she said in another post, and reiterated that jokes should not always be taken too seriously.
