Hospital Watcher Loses Cash & Cellphone to Theft While Sleeping in Palawan

Cash & Cellphone of Hospital Watcher Got Stolen While Sleeping in Waiting Area

A hospital watcher in Palawan is seeking help after losing cash and a cellphone to a thief while resting in the waiting area of Ospital ng Palawan.

The victim, identified as Noli Mahilum from Taytay, Palawan, was staying at the hospital to look after a patient when the incident happened. Like many hospital watchers, he had been spending long hours at the facility, making sure his loved one received the care and support they needed.

According to Mahilum, he went to sleep in the waiting area with his small bag placed close to him. The bag contained his wallet, which held P6,000 in cash, as well as a black Oppo cellphone. The money was intended to cover expenses related to the patient he was watching over.

When he woke up, he was shocked to discover that the bag was already missing. The money was meant for important medical and daily expenses.

After realizing what had happened, Mahilum sought assistance from hospital authorities and security personnel. He requested help in reviewing the hospital’s closed-circuit television cameras in the hope of identifying the person responsible for the theft.

However, he later learned that the camera in the area did not directly cover the spot where he had been sleeping. This made it more difficult to determine how the theft happened and who may have taken the missing belongings.

For many watchers, hospitals become temporary homes where they spend days and nights supporting loved ones through difficult times.

Mahilum has appealed to the public for assistance, particularly regarding his missing black Oppo cellphone. He urged anyone who may be offered the device under suspicious circumstances to avoid purchasing it and immediately report the matter to the proper authorities.
