Sen. Imee Marcos Claims Families of Flood Control Witnesses Allegedly Threatened
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator said she is sure that the flood control witnesses will allegedly recant their testimonies amid the upcoming resumption of the Senate flood control hearing.
Senate President Pro Tempore was re-elected as the chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee. Following his return to the lead of the investigative panel, Lacson said that the flood control hearing will resume on Friday, November 14.

Lacson previously claimed that he will invite a very important witness. Recently, it was reported that 17 congressmen as well as former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be invited by the Senate to the flood control hearing. The former House Speaker was accused by controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects.
Orly Guteza, an ex-marine who is a former aide of Zaldy Co, also claimed that he was allegedly part of the team that delivered suitcases filled with millions of money to the residence of Co and Romualdez.

Ahead of the resumption of the Senate flood control hearing, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the witnesses of the flood control issue will allegedly recant their testimonies. According to the president sister, she is sure about it as the witnesses were allegedly pressured.

“Ang mangyayari ngayon, magre-recant ang mga testigo. Panoorin niyo, sigurado ako diyan. Isa-isa ‘yan na biglang babaliktad dahil pinressure, tinakot ang pamilya, at halos tinutukan ang asawa at anak,” the Senator said based on a report on GMA News,
When asked who are the individuals that she was referring to, Marcos told the media that they already know who has the strongest testimony. Based on the report, the members of the press pushed further and asked the Senator if she’s referring to Orly Guteza.
However, Sen. Imee Marcos only told the media to just wait for the next chapter. According to her, the witnesses were allegedly threatened very much so they would recant their previous testimonies. She also claimed that there were allegedly witnesses who want to speak out but they were silenced.
“Kasi pinakamabigat ang kanyang testimonya. Dahil du’n, may personal knowledge at matapang na ibinunyag ang lahat. Talaga naman, tinakot nang todo-todo ang mga pobreng testigo. Hindi tama itong gawain nila,” Marcos claimed.
When asked who are the people who allegedly threatened the witnesses to recant their testimonies, the Senator claimed she also does not know. According to her, they are those who have the capacity to threaten and those who are frightened that they might be involved in the issue.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos also claimed that she heard that former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be allegedly be a “state witness”.
