Uwan PH Continues To Weaken, Some Areas Still Under Signal No. 1 and 2

TCWS are still in effect due to Uwan PH, and here’s an update from PAGASA.

UWAN PH – The cyclone is bound to exit the Philippines, but some areas in the Philippines still have stormy weather conditions.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), several areas across the country will continue to experience stormy conditions on Monday as Typhoon Uwan moves out of the Luzon landmass.

There were deaths recorded due to Uwan, and it left millions without power, while still reeling from the aftermath of its intensity.

In a previous article, the typhoon weakened as it exited the Philippines, and recently, in the recent update from PAGASA, Uwan continued to weaken as it moved away from the Ilocos Region.

Its center was last located at 175 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur (17.8°N, 118.8°E), moving northwestward at 10 km/h. It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 150 km/h, and a central pressure of 975 hPa.

Several areas are still under Signal No. 1 and 2.

  • Luzon
    • Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the northwestern portion of Isabela (Santo Tomas, Santa Maria, Quezon, Roxas, Delfin Albano, San Pablo, Cabagan, San Manuel, Mallig), Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, the western and central portions of Pangasinan (Basista, Lingayen, City of Alaminos, Anda, Malasiqui, San Fabian, Mangaldan, Mapandan, Burgos, Dagupan City, Binalonan, Bolinao, Aguilar, San Manuel, Sual, Labrador, Bani, Pozorrubio, City of Urdaneta, Laoac, Mabini, San Carlos City, Manaoag, Binmaley, San Jacinto, Bugallon, Infanta, Agno, Calasiao, Santa Barbara, Dasol, Sison, Mangatarem, Urbiztondo), and the northern portion of Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria)

According to the forecast, Uwan will move away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight or early morning tomorrow. However, re-entering is likely on Wednesday evening as it makes landfall over the southwestern coast of Taiwan.
