In the recent episode of It’s Showtime, superstar comedian Vice Ganda made this remark that caught attention online.
There is still no one imprisoned and held accountable for the massive corruption in the flood control projects in the Philippines. From ₱1 billion in cash-filled suitcases delivered to a single official and many other claims, no one has been jailed yet.
Former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, one of the officials involved in the anomalies in the flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). He is currently not in the country and won’t reportedly come home, citing threats.
On the other angle was the Discaya couple, Sarah and Curlee, whose involvement was discovered after they displayed their wealth. They own several companies that joined the bidding for flood control projects, and one of them is among the top 15 bared by President Bongbong Marcos.
No one has taken responsibility for the flood control projects yet, and recently, in an episode of It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda made an intriguing remark, seemingly impatient over the system.
In a sarcastic tone, Vice said after hearing a contestant who dreams of working in the government, “Pautangan! Mahusay ‘to. Gustong yumaman agad. Tapos kapag nabuking, magkakasakit, papa-check-up sa malayo, at hindi na muling babalik!”
Vice added quipping, “Ang dami nating kilala, walang kulong ‘yan! Ang mga may kulong ngayon ‘yong mga nagko-costume ng pulis, mga ganiyan, pero ‘yong mga malalaking nakawan, walang kulong ‘yan! Oh ‘di ba… walang kulong ‘yan! Rally-rally pa kayo, walang kulong ‘yan! Mamamatay rin ‘yang isyung ‘yan!”
This moment immediately went viral online. It was shady yet timely, intriguing yet striking. No names were mentioned, but the words playfully created the thought that the statements had relayed.
