Romnick Sarmenta shared this post about the recent calamity
Actor Romnick Sarmenta shared his thoughts on the recurring flood problems in the Philippines.
Romnick is one of the celebrities in the country who used social media to air sentiments, grievances, and frustrations regarding what is happening, especially the recent corruption issue involving anomalous flood control projects.
The actor, who started as a child star, is not afraid to call out politicians and speak his mind regarding issues in the country.

In a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, Romnick Sarmenta once again shared his views regarding a current issue, the recurring flood in the Philippines, based on the article in Inquirer.
This came after Typhoon Tino hit many parts of Visayas, especially Cebu, where flooding happened. For the actor, this effect of a natural calamity was because of greed, corruption, and environmental abuse. He stressed that this is not just because of the anomalies in flood control projects.

“Deforestation. Mining. ‘Development for residential areas’ – these are the reasons you need flood control. So the problem doesn’t begin and stop at DPWH projects. It begins with greed. That would include ALL corrupt officials at every level. La pang nakakasuhan?” the actor said.
Other celebrities, like Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu, also aired their frustration regarding what happened in Cebu due to Typhoon Tino. They all aim that certain people would be held accountable as they expressed sympathy to the typhoon victims, especially to those who lost their loved ones.
Meanwhile, some netizens blamed the “terraced, Banaue-inspired” mountainside community Monterrazas project of former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Slater Young as one of the alleged causes of flooding in Cebu. His project is known as a luxury residential development built on the slopes of Barangay Guadalupe. There had been negative comments about this since 2013, as many people believed that this could cause landslides.
