Senator-actor Robin Padilla thanks ABS-CBN for the opportunity to make a TV comeback through the series “Blood vs. Duty.”
Based on a previous article, Senator Robin Padilla was confirmed to be making his long-awaited return to television. This marks his first TV project in nearly eight years, and he made it a point to ensure that this comeback won’t interfere with his responsibilities as a lawmaker.
One of the main reasons Padilla agreed to join Blood vs Duty is his portrayal of a Muslim character—something that closely reflects his real-life faith. He believes this allows him to bring a sense of authenticity and deeper understanding to the role.
Recently, in a Facebook post, he spoke about this and thanked ABS-CBN for the opportunity. He currently chairs the Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs and the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media in the 20th Congress, and in line with this, he feels honored to be included in this series.
He is grateful for the balanced portrayal of the lives of the Filipino Muslims. He expressed that the clear representation of their Islamic faith is truly precious in their eyes. This is the same that applies to the indigenous traditions of various tribes, especially those centered on family and community, which are a valuable part of our nation’s heritage.
He wrote, “Amg pagiging inclusive ng Abscbn ay siyang pinakamalaking hakbang hindi lamang sa entertainment media kundi sa lahat ng sangay ng mass media.”
For him, the project carries greater significance because of this, making it more than just a notable return to acting.
Meanwhile, based on a previous article, Senator Robin is considering retiring abroad if the country’s system of government does not improve. He shared that this idea has been on his mind since as early as 2010, when he and his wife had already thought about settling overseas.
He plans to focus on spending more time with his family, prioritizing his personal life over politics.
