A netizen shared this photo of a bottled water with the face of Arjo Atayde
Quezon City First District Representative Arjo Atayde was slammed by netizens for his face on bottled water.
Arjo is just one of the many showbiz personalities who eventually crossed over to the political arena. He officially became a public servant when he was elected as a congressman in the 2022 elections.
He continued serving his constituents after the 2025 midterm elections, as he won for his second term.

However, Arjo Artayde was put under the spotlight, more on the side of scrutiny, when contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused him of receiving kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects.
The actor-turned-politician denied the accusation against him, but criticism continued to be thrown at him. Netizens started digging up receipts through digital footprints. It was noticed by netizens that Arjo’s Facebook page deleted a post about a flood control project with Wawao Builders, the company allegedly involved in the anomaly, which was the contractor.
Previously. Arjo was criticized after his donation had a logo of St. Gerrard Constructions, the company owned by the Discaya couple. Then, another round of criticism was thrown at him as a netizen shared a water container with his name on it.
For netizens who commented against this, what Arjo was doing was the usual thing that “trapo” or traditional politicians do.

In a recent post by netizen @BatangLaLoma on Reddit under r/AnongThoughtsMo, a photo showed that two bottled waters had Arjo’s name and face. “Anong pang alay mo sa Undas?” the uploader wrote in the caption.
In the comment section, several netizens once again called Arjo “trapo,” and for some, at an early stage of his political career, he was already exhibiting the traits of a traditional politician. Here are some comments.
