3 Men Posing as Passengers Stabbed & Robbed Taxi Driver in Quezon City

Three men were arrested after allegedly robbing and stabbing a 38-year-old taxi driver in Barangay Unang Sigaw, Quezon City.

On early Sunday morning, October 12, 2025, the suspects pretended to be passengers and hailed the victim’s taxi in the Muñoz area. When they reached Balintawak, they suddenly declared a robbery, according to police reports.

The driver was forced to hand over his earnings, but when he resisted, one of the suspects stabbed him in the neck and side before they ran away with his money.

The robbers took around P3,000, which was the driver’s hard-earned income from his shift. The wounded driver was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. After being discharged, he went straight to the police station and identified the three suspects from a lineup. He was certain about the man who stabbed him.

The Quezon City Police District launched a hot pursuit operation, leading to the arrest of the suspects in Barangay Balon Bato. Police investigation revealed that the three men were informal settlers from the province who earned a living by begging on the streets.

Authorities believe they planned the robbery together after deciding they were no longer content with just begging.

“So ‘yung modus nila, dati silang nanlilimos, hindi sila contented, nag-uusap na sila, may meeting of minds na sila to come up with this planned na panghoholdap,” Alejandrino added.

The suspects denied the accusations, claiming they were either sleeping or buying food when they were arrested. However, police emphasized that the victim positively identified all three as the culprits.
